MVC OVER EMBANKMENT




05/31/12 1402hrs
Station 8 was alerted to a vehicle rollover crash on Route 15 in Lawrence Township. Squad 8-18 (C8), Engine
8-2 with 3, and Ambulance 8-6 responded. S8-18 arrived and reported a vehicle approximately 100' over the embankment with
possibly 3 injuries. Stations 7 (Tioga), Lindley, and 25 (Valley Amb) were requested for additional resources. E8-2s crew
went to work setting up ropes and and packaging the patient in the stokes basket. Chief 11 (Rice) assisted on scene as LZO
for Guthrie Air, which landed just north of the crash scene on Route 15. Additional crews arrived and assisted with EMS care
and helping the crew up the embankment. Units remained on scene after the rescue to assist the tow service with removing the
vehicle. Lawrence Twp PD Chief Shutt and Deputy Sheriff Smith also assisted on scene with rescue.
VEHICLE CRASH WITH INJURY

05/29/12 1106hrs
Station 8 was dispatch to a reported vehicle crash with one injury on the Buckwheat Hollow Road in Lawrence
Township. Chief 8 (Strange) arrived and reported a single vehicle blocking the roadway. Ambulance 8-6 (C860) responded while
returing from a previous call and was the first arriving apparatus. C8 advised negative entrapment and requested traffic control
in addition to the ambulance on scene. Squad 8-18 with 2 and Chief 8-30 (Scott) also responded. Fire units assisted EMS
with packaging the patient and stood by on scene to assist the tow service.
VEHICLE ROLLOVER IN LINDLEY
05/25/12 1758hrs
Station 8 was dispatched with Lindley Fire Department to Route 15 near the four lane split for a vehicle
rollover. Engine 8-2 (C830), Squad 8-18 (C820), and Ambulance 8-6 (C860) all responded. E8-2 approached the scene and was
notified by Chief 26 (McFall) that there was negative entrapment or injuries and Station 8 could be cancelled. E8-2 issued
a recall and all units returned to quarters.
SMALL FIRE IN BARN

05/24/12 1355hrs
Stations 8, 18 (Nelson), and 7 (Tioga) were all dispatched for the report of a barn fire in Box 8-03 on
the Erickson Road in Lawrence Township. Engine 8-3 (C830) and Ambulance 8-6 responded from Station 8. Enroute, E8-3 was notified
that the fire was reported as possibly out but the caller was still requesting a response. E8-3 arrived and reported nothing
showing and found a small meat smoking room built off the main barn that had caught fire. E8-3s crew went to work checking
for extension and extinguishing hot spots. Units from 18 and 7 were cancelled upon arrival.
REPORTED BUILDING FIRE IN BOX 8-04
05/21/12 1353hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched to the report of a structure fire on Buckwheat Hollow Road in Lawrence
Township. Chief 8 was advised that smoke was showing and additional units from 12 (Millerton), 18 (Nelson) and Lindley were
dispatched. Engine 8-3 (C8 & C830) and Engine 8-2 responded. Lawrence Township PD arrived and reported visable smoke interior
and updated the report with a possible electrical fire. E8-3 and E8-2 arrived and reported northing showing and went to work
checking for fire extension. Nothing was found using the imager and the scene was turned over to repair personnel to fix the
problem. All units cleared the scene at 1422 hours.
WORKING HOUSE FIRE IN ELKLAND




05/19/12 0846hrs
Stations 8 and 6 (Knoxville) were dispatched this morning to a mutual aid structure fire in Elkland Borough.
Engine 8-3 was dedicated to a training fire in Addison, NY and unavailable at the time of dispatch. Engine 8-2 C830 &
Capt 8), Ambulance 8-6 (C860), and Chief 8 responded. Units from 3 (Elkland), 14 (Osceola), and 18 (Nelson) were already
working on the scene of the two story structure. E8-3 arrived and was given the truck assignment. After reporting to
C8, the assigment was changed to interior to attempt to locate the hidden fire. Ambulance 8-6 staged nearby and provided EMS
assistance. Engine 8-3 was later released from the training and went enroute to the fire scene. They arrived and placed the
TIC into service and checked for fire extension. All departments worked together to extinguish the fire and Station
8 was released at 1102 hours.
ASSIST TO MVC WITH ENTRAPMENT
05/12/12 0354hrs
Lindley FD and Station 8 were alerted this morning by Stueben 911 for the report of a vehicle crash
with entrapment on Route 15 southbound in Lindley, NY. Enroute, Chief 26 (Mcfall) also requested resources from
Gang Mills FD due to the location. Engine 8-2 (C830) with 3, Ambulance 8-6 with 4, and Chief 8-20 all
responded. Upon arrival, E8-2 was given the assignment to deploy the hurst tools and work with Lindley units on extrication.
LifeNet 7-7 was also called to the scene and landed on the closed 4 lane highway. Units from 8 remained on location before
being released at 0518 hours.
MUTUAL AID WITH E8-3 TO TIOGA TWP

05/09/12 1905hrs
Station 8 was alerted for a tanker response to assist Stations 7 (Tioga) and 12 (Millerton) operating at
a call that was originally dispatched as a wildfire. Chief 7 (Preston) arrived and reported a large pile of debris behind
a house on fire and requested additional units for suppression and exposure protection. Station 13 (Daggett) was also dispatched
to assist. Engine 8-3 (C820 & C830) and Chief 8-10 all responded. E8-3 arrived was staged and manpower was sent to
the scene. E8-3 cleared the scene at 1951 hours.
VEHICLE CRASH WITH NO INJURY
05/09/12 0754hrs
While operating on the previous building fire, Station 8 was dispatched to a vehicle crash on Route 328
near Route 287 in Lawrence Township. Squad 8-18 (Chief 8-20), Engine 8-2, and Ambulance 8-6 (C8-60) all responded from the
fire scene. Upon arrival Chief 8-20 established command and determined no injuries. Units remained on scene to assist to assist
PSP and the tow services.
FULLY INVOLVED OUTBUILDING FIRE


05/09/12 0722hrs
Stations 8, 7 (Tioga), and Lindley were all alerted to Box 8-04 on the Station Road in Lawrence Township
for the report of a barn fire. Chief 8-30 arrived and reported a 20x30 outbuilding fully involved. Engine 8-3 (Capt 8), Engine
8-2, Squad 8-18 (C8-20), and Ambulance 8-6 (C8-60) all responded. E8-3 arrived and advanced a handline to quickly knock down
the fire. Station 7 and Lindley units were cancelled and units from 8 with the exception of E8-3 were released to handle another
incident in progress.
