GAS LEAK IN NELSON TWP

07/21/2012 1624hrs
Stations 8 and 3 (Elkland) were alerted to standby at their stations per request of Station 18 (Nelson).
18 and 25 (Valley Ambulance) were operating at a gas leak at a residence on Pleasent Drive in Nelson Township. Engine 8-3
was then requested by command for a response to stage on a street on the upper side of the residence. Engine 8-3 responded
with a crew of 5. Upon arrival, orders to stretch a line for potential fire control were given. E8-3 stood by until the gas
company arrived and disconnected the service. E8-3 placed a vent fan into service to ventilate the structure before being
released by command.
STANDBY & ASSIST ON SCENE


07/20/2012 1157hrs
Station 8 was dispatched to transfer an engine company to standby at Station 2 (Mansfield) while they were
working on scene of a structure fire on the Odell Road in Richmond Township. Engine 8-3 with a crew of 4 responded. Upon arrival,
crews stood by shortly at Station 2 before being requested to the scene to assist. E8-3 went to work assisting with overhaul
activities.
POLE FIRE ON ROUTE 287

07/26/2012 1550hrs
Station 8 was alerted for a reported pole fire on Route 287 near the railroad crossing. Engine 8-3 and Squad
8-18 responded. Units arrived and checked the area below for fire conditions. Crews notified Tri-County Electric and awaited
on scene until the fire went out.
POSSIBLE BUILDING FIRE
07/14/2012 1849hrs
Stations 8, 18 (Nelson), and 7 (Tioga) were all alerted on Box 8-03 for the report of a structure fire with
several explosions and visable smoke on Button Hill Rd in Lawrence Twp. C830 (Scott) also added a tanker from 26 (Lindley,
NY) due to the details. Engine 8-3, Engine 8-2, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. Upon arrival of E8-3 and E18-3 in the
area, all other units were staged at Bliss & Button Hill Roads. Both engines checked the area and spoke with the RP and
were unable to locate any fire. All units were cancelled.
LZ AT TOMPKINS CAMPGROUND
07/11/2012 hrs
Station 8 EMS and Station 18 (Nelson) were alerted for a call at Tompkins Campground in Lawrence
Township. It was reported as a male that was run over by a vehicle with abdominal pain. Guthrie Air was also placed airbourne
for the call. Station 8 was redispatched and Engine 8-3 and Squad 8-18 responded to set up the LZ. Units arrived and awaited
for the helicopter. Once landed, fire crews assisted with loading the patient into the helicopter.
BICYCLE / CAR MVC


07/11/2012 1954hrs
Stations 8 and Lindley were dispatched this evening for the report of a two vehicle crash on the River Road
in Lindley, NY. Engine 8-2, Engine 8-3, Squad 8-18, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. E8-2 arrived and was directed by Chief
26 (McFall) to set up an LZ in a field just north of the crash scene. E8-2 set up the LZ for Guthrie Air. Fire crews assisted
Rural Metro EMS with loading the patient into GA.
MOTORCYCLE MVC IN LINDLEY
07/08/2012 2218hrs
Stations 8 and Lindley were alerted this evening for the report of a motorcycle MVC on the River Road in
the Town of Lindley, just north of the PA border. Engine 8-2, Ambulance 8-6, and Squad 8-18 all responded. Units arrived and
began EMS care. Squad 8-18 was assigned traffic control and shut down the River Road on the state border. Units remained on
scene to assist NYSP with lighting and traffic control.
