TWO CRASHES IN THE TOWNSHIP




01/29/11 1244hrs; 1246hrs
Station 8 was dispatched to a vehicle crash with injury on Route 287 near the Dollar General in
Lawrence Township. Engine 8-2 (C830), Squad 8-18 (C810), Ambulance 8-6, C820, C8-60, and C870 all responded. Enroute units
were advised of two different crashes. A crash at the intersection of East Lawrence Rd and Route 287 was reported with no
injuries and a crash on Route 287 at the Dollar General was reported as two vehicles with injuries. Captain 810 (Hackett)
requested Station 7 to be dispatched. E8-2 arrived at the East Lawrence incident and began to assess for injuries
and hazards. Chief 8-70 (White) arrived at the Dollar General and reported the roadway partially blocked with injuries. FF
Groves & EMS Lt. Nichols remained on scene and E82 continued to the Dollar General incident. E8-2 assisted Ambulance
8-6 with packaging and traffic control. Squad 8-18 set up traffic control signs at the first incident and continued
to the second to assist. E7-3 responded to the E Lawrence crash and handled traffic control. All units cleared both crashes
at 1333 hours.
VEHICLE OFF ROADWAY IN LINDLEY

01/27/11 1833hrs
Station 8 was dispatched with Lindley Fire Department for a single vehicle crash on Route 15 in the Town
of Lindley. Engine 8-2 (C8), Squad 8-18, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. E8-2 arrived and reported a vehicle off the roadway
with negative entrapment. A8-6 assessed the patient and assisted Rural Metro Ambulance. Station 8 fire units remained on scene
to assist Lindley FD with traffic control and returned to quarters at 1914 hours.
SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH ON ROUTE 287

01/22/11 0531hrs
Station 8 was alerted by 911 for a single vehicle crash on Route 287 in Lawrence Township. Chief 8 (Strange)
arrived and reported a vehicle into the guide rails with a single occupant. Engine 8-2 (Capt 8) with a crew of 3 and Ambulance
8-6 responded. Units arrived and set up traffic control and checked out the patient. Units remained on scene to assist PSP
and the tow service before clearing the scene at 0624 hours.
ASSIST TO STRUCTURE FIRE



01/21/11 1041hrs
Station 8 was dispatched for interior/SCBA qualified members to a mutual aid structure fire on County Route
119 in the Town of Rathbone, NY. Squad 8-18 (C830) with a crew of 3 responded. Sq8-18 arrived and was assigned to conduct
overhaul on the collapsed structure. Crews applied water as the backhoe removed the debris. Squad 8-18 returned
to quarters at 1253 hours.
FIRE IN A RESIDENTIAL KITCHEN


01/21/11 0401hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched on Box 8-04 early this morning for the report of a structure fire.
Chief 8 (Strange) responded and was advised that the call was received through Stueben County reporting a working fire. Engine
8-3 (C830) and Ambulance 8-7 responded. C8 arrived and reported a smoke condition in the structure with the fire possibly
out. The home owner C860 (Button) was able to knock the fire down with water from the kitchen sink. E8-3 and E7-3
arrived and were ordered to set up ventilation and check the kitchen with the TIC. All units remained on scene until clearing
at 0512 hours.
TRACTOR TRAILER CRASH IN LINDLEY

01/16/11 1758hrs
Station 8 was dispatched for a crash with Lindley FD to the intersection of Route 15 and Morgan Creek Road
in the Town of Lindley. Engine 8-2 (C830), Squad 8-18 (C810 & C820), Ambulance 8-6 (C860), & Chief 8 all responded.
Upon arrival of C8 and Lindley's chiefs, it was reported as a rear end collision with two tractor-trailers involved. E8-2's
crew checked for injuries and Squad 8-18 assisted with setting up traffic control. Units worked on scene until being released
at 1855 hours.
VEHICLE ROLLOVER CRASH

01/13/11 0617hrs
Stations 8 and 18 (Nelson) were alerted early this morning for a single vehicle crash on the Gee Hollow
Road in Lawrence Township. Engine 8-2 (C8-30), Ambulance 8-6, and Chief 8 all responded. Chief 8 call on scene and reported
a vehicle on its roof with negative entrapment and recalled Station 18. E8-2 arrived and staged at the bottom of the hill
and A8-6 checked for injuries.Units remained on scene to assist the tow company and cleared at 0759 hours.
RESIDENTIAL SMOKE INVESTIGATION
01/13/11 0124hrs
Stations 8 and 18 (Nelson) were dispatched to a report of a smoke investigation at a residence on Red House
Lane in Lawrence Township. Engine 8-3 (C830), Chief 8, and Chief 820 all responded. Units were advised that it was reported
as smoke coming from an outlet. C8 & C820 arrived and reported nothing showing. After assessing the situation, Station
18 was recalled and E8-3 continued to the scene to check the area with the thermal imager.
RESCUE ASSIST WITH STATION 18




01/06/11 1103hrs
Station 8 was dispatched this morning to assist Station 18 (Nelson) at a 2 vehicle crash with entrapment.
Chief 18 (Mclean) arrived reported entrapment. Engine 8-2 (C830), Squad 8-18 (C8), Patrol 8-4, and Ambulance 8-6
all responded. Squad 8-18 arrived and confirmed entrapment and requested E8-2 deploy the combination tool and rams. E8-2 called
on scene and went to work freeing the trapped driver. EMS transport to the LZ was handled by Valley Community Ambulance. All
units remained on scene to assist the tow company and PSP and returned at 1248 hours.
WORKING FIRE IN BOX 8-04




01/05/11 1911hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were alerted for a working fire on Route 287 near the Tremaine Road in Lawrence
Township. Chief 8-10 (Hilfiger) arrived and reported the building was fully involved. Tankers from Station 2 (Mansfield),
12 (Millerton),18 (Nelson), and Lindley FD were dispatched to the scene. Units worked with master streams and attack lines
to knock down the fire before the building colllapsed due to the advanced fire condition. All departments worked on scene
to establish the blaze until clearing the scene at 2225 hours.
WORKING FIRE IN TIOGA TOWNSHIP






01/03/11 1914hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched on a first alarm assignment to Route 287 in Tioga Township for
the report of a fire at Northern Tier Fabrication. Engine 8-2, Engine 8-3, and Squad 8-18 responded to assist. Chief 7 (Preston)
requested a 2nd alarm transmited with an on scene report of "well involved". Stations 2 (Mansfield) and 11 (Middlebury) were
alerted on the 2nd alarm. A special request for Lindley FD, and Station 18 (Nelson) for T18-5 was made due to progressing
fire conditions. L2-9 arrived and placed the ladder into service and provided a master stream. Station 6 (Knoxville) with
Hose 6-9 was alerted for water supply. Additionally, T1-5 (Wellsboro), T17-5 (Chatham), T4-5 (Blossburg), and T6-5 (Knoxville)
were called to the scene to shuttle water. Station 8 units remained on scene assisting with overhaul before returning
at 2223 hours.
