Stations 8, 18 (Nelson), and 25 (Valley Amb) were all alerted for the report of a fall victim along
Route 49 near Cowanesque Lake. Squad 8-18 was operating at the previous landing zone call and responded. 911 advised that
it was an unknown location along Route 49. Squad 8-18 arrived at the Boom Station Road intersection to find a member of 25
out with an indivdual. The indivdual refused EMS care and all units were recalled and went available.
ASSIST GUTHRIE AIR AT HMAC LZ
12/31/12 1701hrs
Station 8 EMS was dispatched at 1701 hours for a medical emergency. Squad 8-18 responded as QRS to assist.
Upon arrival of EMS units, a helicopter was requested to HMAC LZ. Station 8 fire was dispatched and Engine 8-3 responded.
Units set up the LZ and assisted Guthrie Air with loading the patient. All units cleared at 1806 hours.
STRUCTURE FIRE IN JACKSON TWP

Stations 8, 12 (Millerton), and 13 (Dagget) were dispatched to Burrows Hollow Road for a structure
fire. Engine 8-3 with a crew of 5 responded. Units from 12 arrived and reported the fire out and requested a recall of all
units at 2106 hours.
GAS LEAK

Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were dispatched this morning for the report of a natural gas leak near a residence.
It was reported that a line was struck by a snow plow. Units from 8 went standing by only to be recalled shortly after by
command.
MVC WITH MINOR INJURIES
12/29/12 0806hrs
Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were alerted today for a two vehicle crash on the River Road in Lindley. Engine
8-2, Squad 8-18, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. Lindley Command requested all units slow up due to the snowy road conditions.
Upon arrival, units set up to shut down the north lane due to the vehicle blocking. E8-2 and A8-6's crew began patient
care and packaging. Units remained on scene to assist the tow service before clearing the scene at 0917 hours.
EMS ASSIST WITH L'VILLE AMBULANCE
12/26/12 0754hrs
Stations 8 and 18 (Nelson) were dispatched this morning at 0722 hours for a medical call on Heffner Hollow
Road in Lawrence Township. Ambulance 8-6 with Chief 8-60 (Button) responded. The ambulance arrived and was met by a snow covered
driveway approximately 1/4 mile in length. Towards the top of the drive, the ambulance began sliding towards the edge of the
roadway, next to a steep embankment. The crew stopped there and continued on foot to provide patient care. At 0754 hours,
Chief 8-60 requested Station 8 redispatched for Patrol 8-4 and an additional ambulance. Patrol 8-4, Squad 8-18, and Ambulance
8-7 all responded. Units arrived and assisted the patient down the driveway to the 2nd ambulance. Fire crews remained on scene
to assist T&R Towing with freeing the stuck apparatus.
MVC ROLLOVER IN JACKSON TWP
12/21/12 0748hrs
Stations 8 and 12 (Millerton) were dispatched to Route 328 near the Lawrence Twp/Jackson Twp line for the
report of a single vehicle rollover. Engine 8-2, Ambulance 8-6, Squad 8-18, and Chief 8-60 (Button) all responded. Upon arrival
of units from Station 12 a report of a vehicle rollover with a single occupant self extricated was given. All units not on
scene with the exception of Ambulance 8-6 were recalled. Engine 8-2 arrived on scene as the recall was taking place and provided
traffic control for the apparatus in the roadway. Ambulance 8-6 and C860 remained on scene with the opeartor for PSP and the
tow service and all other units cleared the scene.
MVC ON ROUTE 15 - LINDLEY
12/18/12 1538hrs
Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were once again alerted to a report of a single vehicle crash on Route 15 in
Lindley, NY. Engine 8-2 with a crew of 3 responded. E8-2 arrived first to find a vehicle on its side off the roadway with
the operator speaking with NYSP. Assessment found that he was the only occupant and was not injured. Lindley E89 arrived and
traffic control was setup to assist law enforcement and the tow service. Units cleared the scene at 1625 hours.
FD/AMBULANCE TREASURER RETIRES

A special presentation took place tonight at the monthly FD meeting. Judy Thomas, treasurer of the FD, Relief
Assocication, and Ambulance Association recieved recognition by the membership for her long time contribution and involvement
with the organizations. Tonight was her last meeting as the treasurer as she had decided to "retire" from her position.
NON-EMERGENCY TRAFFIC CONTROL
12/14/12 1148hrs
Station 8 was dispatched for a non-emergency response this morning to assist Lawrence Township PD at a MVC
with no injuries. Squad 8-18 and Chief 8-10 both responded. Units arrived shortly after PD to find a vehicle off the roadway.
The tow service arrived and the west bound lane of Route 328 was closed to assist with the removal of the vehicle.
VEHICLE FIRE ON EAST LAWRENCE RD
12/11/12 0945hrs
Station 8 was toned out today for a vehicle fire in Lawrence Township on the East Lawrence Road. Engine
8-2 with a crew of 5, Engine 8-2 with 2, Chief 8 (Strange), and Chief 8-60 (Button) all responded. C8 arrived and reported
a working vehicle fire. Engine 8-3 rolled in first and advanced a handline to quickly knock down the fire. Engine 8-2 staged
on scene. After the fire was extinguished, units remained on scene to assist PSP and the tow service.
VEHICLE ON ITS SIDE IN LINDLEY
12/10/12 1809hrs
Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were dispatched to Route 15 north of Stowell Hill Road in Lindley
for the report of a vehicle crash with unknown injuries. Engine 8-2, Squad 8-18, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. Chief
26 (McFall) reported the operator to be self extricated. E8-2 arrived on scene and found a vehicle off the roadway
and on its side. The crew went to assess the vehicle for any additional occupants. The squad set up traffic control south
of the scene and A8-6 assisted Rural Metro Ambulance. E8-2s crew also went to work with Lindley FD members with removing a
tree that fell into the roadway as a result of the vehicle striking it. Units remained on scene until being released by Lindley
Command at 1850 hours.
ANOTHER TECHNICAL DOG RESCUE
12/02/12 0952hrs
Station 8 was alerted to meet at Station 8 for a land rescue. Chief 8-10 (Scott) had been notified to check
out the area of Route 15 in the rock cut for a dog stuck on a cliff. PSP and the dog warden were on location requesting the
FD. The situation was asessed and Aerial 3-9 (Elkland) was requested for assistance. Squad 8-18 and Engine 8-3 responded.
Due to the limited accessability, using ropes was not possible. A3-9 attempted to reach the dog but was short by approximately
10 feet. Gang Mills Tower 17 was then requested. Tower 17 arrived and was able to extend their 100' tower easily to reach
the dog and bring him to safety. Crews operated on scene for approximately 1 hour.
LFD AWARDED GRANT FROM SHELL
Chief Lee Strange and Deb Sawyer from Shell
On November 19th, Chief Lee Strange met with Deb Sawyer from the Wellsboro Shell office
to be presented with a $12,000 check to be used towards our air bag and air strut project. This was combined with funding
from the Krieger Foundation to purchase much needed rescue equipment. A special thanks to Shell for this award.
