This weekend Chief Strange and Asst Chief Ransom went on a trip to Prince William County Virgina to attend
the graduation of LFD PT member TJ Riley. TJ is also a member of the Dale City, VA Fire Department. Their members
are required to attend an academy and obtain FF 2 certification. While attending the events, C8 and C820 were invited to stay
the night at DCFD Station 13 and ride along. C8 was assigned to E13 and C820 to Truck 13. Overnight E13 ran a medical assist
and both the engine and truck went on a gas leak.
HELICOPTER ASSIST AT THE LAKE

08/26/10 1831hrs
Station 8 was dispatched for a fall victim with a head injury at Gee's Rodeo in Lawrence Township. EMS was
dispatched and notified that a helicopter also being dispatched. E8-3 with a crew of 5 with C8-10 (Scott), Squad 8-18 with
a crew of 3, and C8-20 (Ransom) all responded. C8-10 requested the landing zone to be at the South Overlook at Cowanesque
Lake. LZO was notified that LifeNet 7-7 was responding. Ambulance 8-7 responded to the scene and transported the patient to
the landing zone. E8-3s crew assisted with loading the patient and all units cleared at 1921 hours.
VEHICLE CRASH WITH INJURIES



08/26/10 1504hrs
Station 8 was alerted for a vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 287 and Route 328 in Lawrence Township.
Chief 8-60 (Rotsell) arrived and reported 2 vehicles with possibly 4 injuries and requested additional EMS from
Station 7 (Tioga). Engine 8-2 with a crew of 3 with C8-10 (Scott), Squad 8-18 with a crew of 3, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded.
Upon arrival of units, two of the patients had to be taken out of the vehicle and packaged. The other 2 patients were self
extricated and packaged for transport. Units remained on scene for traffic control until 1616 hours.
2 VEHICLE CRASH WITH ENTRAPMENT



08/26/10 0024hrs
Station 8 was alerted with Lindley Fire Department to Route 15 southbound near the PA/NY border for a vehicle
crash with entrapment. C8 (Strange) and C8-10 (Scott) responded direct. Engine 8-2 with C8-20 (Ransom), Ambulance 8-6, and
Ambulance 8-7 responded from Station 8. C8-10 arrived and reported that there was 2 vehicles head-on, roadway blocked,
and there was 5 patients with entrapment X2. Additional EMS units and helicopters were requested. E8-2 and Lindley E89 arrived
and went to work with the Hurst tools for extrication on both vehicles. A7-6, A7-16 (Tioga), A25-16 (Valley), M-1
(SSMH), and 2 units from Rural Metro EMS responded. Command was notified that the helicopters were unavailable due to weather.
Total extrication time was 16 minutes. EMS units transported the patients and fire units remained on scene with PennDOT for
traffic control while PA State Police conducted their investigation.
ASSIST TO CATON FOR WILDFIRE
08/21/10 1652hrs
Station 8 was dispatched mutual aid for a brush truck and manpower this afternoon to a wildfire on the Deyo
Road in Caton NY. Caton, Lindley, and South Corning were dispatched to a wildfire near a residence. A 2nd alarm was requested
bringing other units from Stueben and Station 8. P8-4, E8-3, and SQ8-18 were at the parade line up in Tioga and responded
from that location. Engine 8-2 and C8-10 responded from the station. Upon arrival, Chief 8-10 reported the fire out and requested
a recall of all of 8's units at 1716 hours.

08/19/10 1213hrs
This afternoon, Station 8 was dispatched mutual aid to a wildfire on the Howe Hill Road in Farmington Township.
Stations 7 (Tioga) and 18 (Nelson) were operating at a wildfire and requested brush units from Stations 8 and 11 (Middlebury).
A few minutes later, Station 3 (Elkland) and Engine 8-3 as a tanker were dispatched. Patrol 8-4 with C8-10 and
Engine 8-3 with C8-20 arrived and crews went to work with indian tanks and walked the perimeter of the fire. The fire was
contained to a 2 acre area but was originally made difficult to fight due to thick brush and high grass. 8's units remained
on scene until 1336 hours.
EARLY AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM
08/11/10 0659hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at Halls Homes and Lumber on Route 287
in Lawrence Township. Chief 8 (Strange) and Chief 8-10 (Scott) responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they were notified that
the keyholder was unable to locate a source. Units were advised to standby. A walk through was conducted and nothing
was found. All units were cancelled at 0709 hours.
SMALL WILDFIRE IN THE TOWNSHIP



08/07/10 1745hrs
Station 8 was dispatched this afternoon to a wildfire at a residence on Route 287 in Lawrence Twp.
Chief 8-10 (Scott) arrived and reported a 20' x 20' wildfire in high grass with Chief 7-10 (Preston) attempting to control
the fire with a water can. Patrol 8-4 with 3 and Engine 8-2 with 2 responded. P8-4 arrived and advanced the booster line to
knock down the fire. Units remained on scene until clearing at 1812 hours.
MUTUAL AID CRASH IN LINDLEY
08/07/10 1525hrs
Station 8 was disptached mutual aid with Lindley Fire Department to Route 15 in Lindley, NY for a box truck
on its side. Engine 8-2 responded with a crew of 3. As the engine approached the scene, a recall was issued by Chief 26 (McFall).
All units returned at 1530 hours.
VEHICLE ROLLOVER ON ROUTE 15
08/05/10 0223hrs
Station 8 was alerted this morning to a rollover crash on Route 15 southbound in Lawrence Township. Chief
8 (Strange) responded and was advised that it was a van rollover with 8 occupants who have left the scene. Chief 8-10 (Scott)
arrived and reported a van on its side in the median with no one around the vehicle. Engine 8-2 with 3 (C8, C8-20), Squad
8-18 with 4 (C8-30), Ambulance 8-6 with 3, and EMS Chief 8-60 (Rotsell) all responded. As fire appartatus arrived, the vehicle
carrying the now reported 12 van occupants showed up on scene and were checked over. 1 injury was reported and transported
by A8-6. FD personel assisted with patient refusals and traffic control. PSP investigated and all units cleared at 0357 hours.
