LANDING ZONE AT HMAC

Station 8 was dispatched to the HMAC Landing Zone in Lawrence Township to assist LifeNet 7-7 and Ambulance 7-7 (Middlebury). Engine 8-3 responded with a crew of 5 (C8 & C8-10). Upon arrival E8-3 set up the LZ. Fire crews assisted with loading the patient into the helicopter. All untis cleared at 1215 hours.

TWO AFTERNOON WILDFIRES

09/25/10 1534hrs; 1630hrs
Stations 8 and 12 (Millerton) were first alerted in the mid afternoon for a wildfire on the Buckwheat Hollow Road in Lawrence Township. Patrol 8-4 and Engine 8-3 responded. Chief 8 (Strange) arrived and reported a 1/2 acre fire and recalled all of 12s units. P8-4 and E8-3 arrived and went to work extinguishing the fire. Units returned at 1620 hours. At 1630 hours, Chief 8 radioed in a 1/4 acre wildfire on the East Lawrence Road. P8-4, E8-3, and A8-6 all responded. Units arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. All units cleared from the scene at 1654 hours.

Station 8 was dispatched this evening to set up a landing zone at the South Overlook LZ. A8-6 was on scene of a leg fracture and requested the helicopter to that location. Engine 8-3 with 5 (C8-20), Patrol 8-4 with 2, and Chief 8-10 all responded. Upon arrival, E8-3 set up the LZ and Captain 8-10 (Hackett) was the LZO. Crews assisted with loading the patient into LifeNet 7-7 and returned to quarters at 1815 hours.

Station 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched to a 1 vehicle crash on Route 287 at the bridge construction. E8-2 with 3 (C8 & C810), Squad 8-18 with 4, Ambulance 8-6 and Ambulance 8-7 all responded. E8-2 arrived on the north side of the incident to drop off the crew to assess and continued around the detour to the south side. Chief 8 established command and reported 1 vehicle with 2 injuries. Tioga EMS transported and units remained on scene to assist PSP until 0101 hours.

MUTUAL AID WILFIRE IN LINDLEY

Station 8 was dispatched mutual aid to a wildfire on the State Line Road in Lindley, NY. Patrol 8-4 with 2 (C8) and Engine 8-3 with 5 (C8-10 & C8-20) responded. P8-4 arrived and was sent to the scene in a wooded area to extinguished the fire with M-23 (Lindley). E8-3 stoodby at the roadway with Tanker 25 (Tuscorora) to supply the brush units.

SOUTH OVERLOOK LANDING ZONE

Station 8 was dispatched to assist Guthrie Air at the South Shore Landing Zone for Ambulance 8-6 that was on scene of a medical call in Lawrenceville Borough. Engine 8-3 with 4 and Squad 8-18 with 2 responded. Fire crews set up the landing zone and assisted with loading the patient into the helicopter. All units cleared at 1915 hours.

Station 8 was dispatched this evening to establish a landing zone for Guthrie Air at the South Overlook LZ in Lawrence Township. Valley Ambulance and Medic 1 were enroute to the hospital with a victim of a motorcycle crash and requested the helicopter. Engine 8-3 with a crew of 4 with C8-10 (Scott), Squad 8-18 with 3, and Chief 8-20 (Ransom) all responded. C8-20 was the landing zone officer. Fire units assisted with setting up the LZ and loading the patient. All units cleared at 1840 hours. 

MVC WITH MINOR INJURY

Station 8 was alerted this evening for a vehicle crash with injury on Weaver Street in Lawrenceville Borough. Engine 8-2 with 3 (C8-30), Squad 8-18 with 5 (C8), Ambulance 8-6 with 4, Ambulance 8-7 with 2 (C8-70), Chief 8-10, and Chief 8-20 all responded. Upon arrival of C8-10, it was reported as 2 vehicles with roadway blocked. As units arrived 1 patient was packaged with minor injuries. Units remained on scene for PSP and returned at 2046 hours.

Station 8 was dispatched to assist Lindley FD this afternoon for the report of a water line break at 4 County Route 115. This address is just across the state line as Main Street (Lawrenceville) turns into CR 115in NY. Engine 8-3 with a crew of 5 with C8-10 (Scott) and C8-20 (Ransom) responded. Upon arrival, it was found that it was a residential supply line that had been ruptured while a well line was being dug in the yard. Lindley units arrived and utilized their portable pump to keep the water from entering the residence and Lawrenceville Water Authority was notified to shut off the water. All units returned at 1428 hours.

VEHICLE FIRE IN THE TOWNSHIP

Station 8 was dispatched to a vehicle fire at 1438 Buckwheat Hollow Road in Lawrence Township. Engine 8-3, Squad 8-18, and Chief 8-20 (Ransom) all responded. Upon arrival of C820, it was found that Captain 8-10 (Hackett) was on location assisting the vehicle owner with fire suppression. Engine 8-3 arrived and put the trash line into service and extinguished the remaining fire. Units remained on scene until 1714 hours.

Life Net 7-7 @ the Lindley LZ

09/05/10 1834hrs
Station 8 was dispatched this evening to assist Life Net 7-7 at the intersection of Route 15 and the Morgan Creek Road for Lindley Fire Department. Lindley was operating at a ATV crash and requested Station 8 be dispatched to set up a LZ. Engine 8-3 with Chief 8 (Strange) responded. The crew established the landing zone. LifeNet 7-7 was then directed to land at the scene approximately 3 miles north. Engine 8-3 went enroute and directed the helicopter into the landing zone set up on scene. E8-3 arrived and assisted EMS with packaging of 2nd patient. All units cleared at 1937 hours.

While Engine 8-3 and Patrol 8-4 were out on the landing zone for Guthrie Air, they were notified of Life Net 7-7 responding to their location for another femur fracture at Miles Mountain Motorcross. Ambulance 25-6 transported the patient to the landing zone. Chief 8 (Strange) was the LZO. Station 8's crews assisted with loading the patient. All units cleared at 1416 hours.

09/05/10 1258hrs
Station 8 was alerted to establish a landing zone at the South Overlook Landing Zone in Lawrence Township for Guthrie Air. EMS was on scene at Miles Mountain Race Track with a femur fracture and requested a helicopter. Patrol 8-4 and Engine 8-3 responded to assist. A25-6 transported the patient to the landing zone. Chief 8 (Strange) had LZO and fire crews assisted with loading the patient and Guthrie Air went airbourne at 1336 hours.

Station 8 was dispatched to assist Guthrie Air and Tioga Ambulance 7-16 at the HMAC Landing Zone in Lawrence Township. A7-16 was on scene with a cardiac patient at Ives Run when the helicopter was requested. Engine 8-3 and Chief 8 (Strange) responded to the LZ. Upon arrival, E8-3s crew set up the LZ and C8 was the LZO. The crew assisted EMS with loading the patient. Guthrie Air was airbourne and all units cleared at 0806 hours.
