Station 8 was dispatched on a second alarm assignment with Station 17 (Chatham). Stations 7 (Tioga) and
11 (Middlebury) were responding to the report of a house fire on Limerick Lane in Tioga Township. Engine 8-3 (C8 & C810)
and Engine 8-2 both responded. Engine 8-3 arrived and was assigned to check for extension with the imager and Engine 8-2 was
sent to Station 7 for standby. The fire was contained to a small area in a "mud room" off the rear of the structure. Nothing
was located and units from 11 conducted overhaul within the room. All units cleared the scene at 1150 hours.
SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH ON ROUTE 15

Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched to Route 15 in Lawrence Township for the report of a vehicle crash
with one injury. Chief 8-10 (Scott) arrived and reported a tractor trailer parked off the roadway with one minor injury. The
report from the driver was that a piece of debris had came through his windshield and struck him. Engine 8-2, Squad 8-18,
and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. Units remained on scene for PSP until returning at 2351 hours.
3 VEHICLE MVC ON THE HIGHWAY
01/28/11 0958hrs
Station 8 was alerted this morning for a traffic control call on Route 15 northbound in Lawrence
Township. Chief 8-10 (Scott) arrived and reported 3 vehicles off the roadway with one BLS injury and requested a EMS response
on the alarm. Station 8 was redispatched for an emergency response. Squad 8-18 and Ambulance 8-6 responded. Upon arrival of
the squad, the travel lane was closed by placement of cones. The patient was loaded into the ambulance. Crews remained on
scene to assist PSP and the towing service.
SMALL FIRE AT ACORN MARKET
01/27/11 2337hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were alerted the Acorn Market in Lawrence Township for the report of a structure
fire. Engine 8-3 (C810) and Chief 8 responded. Chief 8 arrived and reported nothing showing and requested a recall of all
units with the exception of E8-3. The engine arrived and went to investigate with C8. A small grease fire was found at
the deep fryer. Crews used the thermal imager to check for extension and the fryer was placed out of service. All
units cleared at 0008 hours.
HORSE RESCUED FROM ICEY POND
Patrol 8-4 and Squad 8-18 shut down a lane of traffic.

Station 8 was dispatched this morning for an animal rescue on Ole Country Lane in Lawrence Township. The
report was of a horse that had fallen through the ice in a pond and was stuck. Chief 8 (Strange) responded and requested Station
7 (Tioga) on standby. Engine 8-2, Squad 8-18, and Patrol 8-4 responded. C8 then requested rescue and ambulance from Station
7 to respond. Upon arrival of units, equipment was taken down the hill to the pond. The horse was put in a make shift harness
made from ropes and straps. With numerous manpower available, the horse was pulled onto the embankment at 0914 hours. Due
to accesability problems, it was decided that since the location was next to Route 15, the fence was cut and the horse was
taken to a grassy area along the highway to wait for the transporting trailer. While waiting, P8-4 relocated to that location
and powered a portable heater with its generator to warm up the horse. Units remained on scene until the horse wa loaded at
1020 hours.
SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH ON ROUTE 15

Engine 8-3 and Squad 8-18 were returning from Addison when they came upon a single vehicle crash at the
northbound exit of Route 15 in Lawrence Township. Both units arrived and checked the driver and vehicle. A utility pole had
been knocked over and no injuries were reported. E8-3 returned to station and Squad 8-18 remained on scene for PSP.
STATION 8 ASSISTS ADDISON FD
01/21/11 0949hrs
Station 8 was dispatched to assist Addison FD this morning at the scene of a previous worker. Engine 8-3
(C8) and Squad 8-18 (C810) responded to assist. Crews met at Addison Sta 1 and went to the scene of the fire. Engine 8-3 was
set up as the pumper with the drop tank and tankers shuttled water.E8-3 stretched two lines to supress the remaining fire
in the debris as it was being removed from the building. 8's units worked on scene until returning at 1434 hours.
Station 8 started early on the 19th with a dispatch to a transformer fire with wires down on Main Street
in Lawrenceville Borough. Chief 8 (Strange) and Squad 8-18 responded. Crews secured the area and awaited arrival of the electric
company. At 0630 hours, Station 8 was dispatched to the Buckwheat Hollow Road in Lawrence Township for the report of a dump
truck that had caught utility wires and pulled a pole down. Squad 8-18 and C8 responded and shut down the roadway until the
arrival of utilities. At 2349 hours, Station 8 was dispatched for interior attack manpower to a mutual aid structure
fire on Front Street in Addison. The fire was a multi alarm worker at Webbs Market with heavy smoke showing. Engine
8-3 (C810) with a crew of 5 and Squad 8-18 (C8) responded with a crew of 3. Upon arrival the crew were sent to a staging area
and later used to work on side C of the building for fire suppresion. The imager was used to check the interior after using
forcible entry to make access points in the building. Due to the poor structural conditions, interior attack was called off
prior to 8's arrival. Units returned just after 0230 hours. At 0449 hours, Station 8 was dispatched to standby at Station
8 with an Engine Co per the request of Addison Command. A 2nd alarm had been retransmitted for the earlier fire. Crews stoodby
at station until being cancelled at 0656 hours.
WORKING FIRE IN THE TOWNSHIP
01/15/11 0052hrs
Stations 8, 7(Tioga), and 18 (Nelson) were dispatched this morning for a working structure fire on Red House
Lane in Lawrence Township. Chief 8-20 (Ransom) responded and reported a working fire visable from his location. Lindley FD
was added to the alarm. C8-20 arrived and established command and updated the report to a fully involved fire. Engine 8-3,
Engine 8-2, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. Additionally, 4 engines and 3 tankers responded from the mutual aid departments
as well as Engine 2-1 (Mansfield) stood by at Station 8. Crews worked on scene until declaring the fire out at 0249 hours.
VEHICLE CRASH WITH CONFINEMENT
01/13/11 1849hrs
Station 8 was dispatched mutual aid to the Town of Lindley on the Steamtown Road for a vehicle crash. The
report was of 1 vehicle over an embankment, rollover, with confinement. Engine 8-2, Ambulance 8-6, and Chief 8-20 (Ransom)
all responded. C8-20 and Engine 8-2 arrived and was sent to work with Lindley crews on extricating the patient. E8-2
deployed the combination tool and popped the door. The stokes basket was used to bring the patient over the embankment and
into the ambulance. Crews worked on scene until returning at 2007 hours.
POSSIBLE STRUCTURE FIRE
01/08/11 2313hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched Freds Lobster Garden for the report of a possible structure fire.
Stations 11 (Middlebury) and 2 (Mansfield) were dispatched to stand by at their stations. Chief 7-10 (Preston) arrived and
reported that the fire was contained to an outdoor wood burner and requested a recall of all units with the exception of Engine
7-3. All units were cancelled at 2324 hours.
